I never knew this movie if my sister didn’t recommend and force me to watch it. well, honestly, at first I thought this was just gonna be just a drama musical. I would probably like it. I wasn’t that enthusiast to watch this movie. since I don’t have the movie, and I can’t do torrent to get it, I was searched in YouTube just to get a hint a bit about the movie. I found some clips including the one that the father and the son were doing guitar duet together. I said, hmm…. that awesome. yet not that enthusiast but love tho hear the duet again. little bit curious about the movie knowing that I many comment in youtube said that this is a wonderful movie.
surprise, I went to city yesterday, had a meeting with my lecture to talk about our project research. After the meeting was over and I wanted to go home I suddenly realize I don’t have small money to pay the bus. then I had to buy something just to get a change. I don’t have any idea what’s came to my mind I just ran to JB Hi-fi across the Queen Victoria Building (forget the name of the building). Searching the cheapest thing to buy, at first I wanted to buy “the whole ten years” (cause its only 10 dollars!!), then I realize, I might found august rush here. and I found it! okay, it was not as cheap as “the Whole 10 Years”, but you know what…. IT’S WORTHED!!!
Indeed, it was a grate movie. mainly because of the music. I’d say this movie won’t be this great if the music weren’t this wonderful. the power of the movie was in the musics. without the musics, impossible for me to like the movie… wait no, love the movie! I like the idea of combining between classical and pop rock, kind of stuff. I’m not a music expert, but I do know when something feel inside me. I also like how the movie give me a new perspective of how we can play the guitar. the funny thing, though, was there were scenes that shot this boy (august rush) while playing guitar by slapping it, her hand looked bigger than his age. It did cool (the slapping) but, I can see the different. also when the hand gripped the string, it was full of power. well, it is impossible for the kid to had this strong power in gripping the string. Like I said, this movie is just gonna be a hilarious drama fiction if there wasn’t because the beautiful music behind it.
beside that, I also kind of wandering why they made the ending like that. I’d think wouldn’t it be more lovely if Layla played the solo cello that was written by august? the mother played the rapshody that had been written by her own son without knowing whose wrote that?! well, just a though.
“the music is all around us… all you have to do… is listen..”
