wouldn’t it be great if we can live in every place we like without have to deal with the rules of residence or citizen?
I quite feel blue lately, it’s because I just find out that it seems my time to spend in this beautiful country isn’t gonna be that long. couple of days ago I was attending a presentation about permanent residence. generally it was showing how international students can get PR in australia. as a summary, to get an australian PR directly I have to study in australia for at least 2 years; or it also could be from sponsor. well, since the folloeing is impossible for me to happen, then my last change is to expand my study for another year, minimum.
ok, that would be pretty cool. but I can’t do that. extend study means additional money that I have to spend here. that also I have to depend on my parents for one more year. I don’t want that! enough formal study, now is the time for me to get a job. to earn money from my own effort.
I really like here. in fact I think I’m falling in love to this county, australia. but even I admire it so much, I still can be able to stay in here. In here, I feel like I found peace in life, almost everyday I realize how beautiful this world is. this country with all inside it has given me another perception of how life might goes on. also many other things that I really sad have to leave this beautiful county.
As I said, I’m wandering of world that doesn’t have rules of citizen or residence. the only citizen that exist was the citizen of planet Earth. yknow, it is like religion. we can decide which religion that we want to choose and the religion will accept everyone that willing to join in. although there are some rules that need to be followed, but the rules are made not make her difficult to join.
I remembered what my barber said yesterday while he was doing my hair cut. at first he was guessing that I came from India, but after I correct him he said, “it doesn’t matter where you come from because we are brother and sister.” maybe it sounds cliche, after all I have heard it million of times from U2 song. however, this is the first time I hear it directly with my ears. He is Italian, and he has been working for the barbershop for about 39 years. yaiks!! his name is Joe, by the way.
I never agree with all this rules, especially with the silly one. I remember the presenter was giving us example how the rules of this residence can be very ridiculous. The english language proficiency. let say, if a person was born in USA and stay there for around three months. so, by defaults this person has US passport. then he moved away to another country that doesn’t use english as its main or secondary language, hence the quality of english proficiency was close to zero. But by the rules of PR, this guy was consider as a person with good proficiency in english. ARGH!! what kind of rules is that??!!!
I’m not a person that against rules. frankly, I’m a person that quite like to make rules. but my perception of rules is that rules is made to make people’s life easier, not the opposite. as long as the rules are make sense and acceptable then I will follow it. but if the rules are freakin’ wierd, even I was one of the person that wrote it, I would say, “NEVER FOLLOW IT!!” much better, “CHANGE IT!!”
believe me, that rules can make people miserable. dyou remember rules that Hitler was made? or other dictator? clearly, that their rules were made for their own sake. they didn’t care about other people. moreover, kind a bit irony, even in a war there are rules such as it is forbidden to shoot or harm the red cross or similar with it.
oya, one other thing before I forget to mention, sometimes I think this PR rule is a ridiculous game, because they using points to gain the residency permission. so basically you collecting points from what you have or done in australia. once your points are enough, then you will get the PR, and if not you might get TR (temporary residence). Until now I still wonder and curious why they make it like a game? is it because they do realize that life is just a game? might be…
